1.1Definitions

The following definitions apply to these Terms and Conditions:

“Eligible transaction” refers to purchases converted to SelectPay™ during the Promotional Period and remain open until September 1st, 2023, minus returns/credits, but does not include cash advances, balance transfers, credit card cheques, and any fees and/or finance charges.

“Cardholder” means the Primary credit card holder of any Retail credit card issued by Scotiabank (Barbados) Limited.

“Promotion” refers to this Promotion only and not to any of the Bank’s other promotions or programs.

“Promotional Period” refers to the period June 15, 2023 to July 15, 2023, inclusive.

“Scotiabank®” and “The Bank” mean Scotiabank (Barbados) Limited.

These Terms and Conditions supplement the terms and conditions of your Scotiabank Credit Card Cardholder Agreement (the “Cardholder Agreement”). Capitalised terms used but not defined in these Terms and Conditions shall have the meanings defined and set out in the Cardholder Agreement.

2.1How to participate

·       To qualify for participation in this Promotion, Cardholders who set up a SelectPay™ plan during the Promotional Period (without cancelling/defaulting on the installment plan) will be automatically entered for a chance to WIN 1 of 3 prizes.

·       In the event that a customer earns a prize, and then subsequently cancels and/or defaults on the SelectPay™ plan, their Credit Card will be charged for the value of the prize.

·       Customers must be legal residents of Barbados, currently residing in Barbados and must be the primary holder of any retail credit card issued by Scotiabank (Barbados) Limited.

3.1Eligibility

·       Only transactions converted to SelectPay™ using a Scotiabank Credit Card  during the Promotional Period are considered eligible for this Promotion. No other Scotiabank products will be eligible for this Promotion.

·       The SelectPay^TM transactions must remain open (i.e. not paid off) until after September 1st, 2023.

·       This Promotion is open to Eligible Scotiabank Credit Card Cardholders who are legal residents of Barbados, 18 years of age or older. Eligibility is restricted to Scotiabank Credit Card Cardholders whose credit card account is in good standing and has not been blocked, frozen, written-off or delinquent, or whose credit card has not been stolen, fraudulently obtained, mislaid or lost during the Promotional Period or within the past twelve (12) months.

·       Scotiabank employees and/or those living in the same household of Scotiabank employees, their immediate families including (spouses, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses), as well as any of Scotiabank’s partner companies, subsidiaries and/or its advertising agency and their immediate families including (spouses, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses) are not eligible to participate in this Promotion.

·       In the event that an Individual earns a prize but ceases to be a customer through this Promotional Period or ceases to be a customer or becomes an “immediate family member” as in the above, then the person shall be considered ineligible to receive the Prize.

4.1 Prizes

·       This Promotion will run from June 15, 2023 to July 15, 2023, inclusive.

Winners will be rewarded:

Prize 1: Crop Over Mas Package (On d Road)

Winner + 1 receive Kadooment costumes, hair, makeup and return transport..

Prize 2: Crop Over Fete Package (Down to Pump)

Winner + 1 friend receive tickets to attend three (3) Crop Over fetes incl. return transport.

Prize 3: Barbados all-inclusive Staycation

Winner + 1 receive a hotel stay at an exclusive Hotel incl. food & drinks for 2 nights, 3 days.

5.1 Draw Prize

·       The draw for the prizes will be done on July 19, 2023 by the Regional Marketing Units.

·       The allotted number of winners will be randomly selected from an electronic customer database with qualifying entries using a randomizer.  Four (4) entries per prize will be drawn, with three (3) of them as back-up winners.

6.1 Draw - Consumer Disclosure / Notification of winners

·       Attempts to notify the winners will be made by telephone, 3 times within three (3) business days from the date of the draw.  Should the Bank be unable to speak to the winner by telephone within the aforementioned period another winner will be drawn from the back-up winners in their stead. After being notified by telephone, an email will be sent to the winner. The winner will then be required to provide proof of their age in the form of a National Photo ID, (Driver’s Permit, Identification Card or Passport) and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Prize Acceptance and Release within five (5) days of the email notification to be confirmed as the winner. The winner will also be required to provide proof of ownership of the Scotiabank credit card that was used to win the prize. 

·       If the winner declines to fulfill these conditions to collect the prize, their eligibility will be voided, and another winner will be drawn from the back-up winners in the order they were selected. All unaccepted prizes will be retained by the Bank.

·       Contact will be attempted using the Cardholder’s phone number as found in The Bank’s records. If the winner cannot be contacted by telephone within three (3) business days of the draw date the Bank has the right to offer the prize to a back-up winner.

·       The winners’ names may be published in the media. The winners must agree to the use of their name and photographs without compensation in any forthcoming publicity by Scotiabank or the prize may be forfeited.

·       The winners will be responsible for any taxes, tips, insurance and expenses not explicitly stated as part of their prize, and must agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Bank from and against any or all claims, losses, injuries or damages resulting from participation in the Promotion.

·       The use of your Eligible credit card to make purchases constitutes your consent to participate in this Promotion and your consent for The Bank to obtain your name, address and other information for the lawful purpose of administering this Promotion.  Scotiabank reserves the right to void any and all entries of an entrant who Scotiabank believes has attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness, or proper play of this Promotion.

·       This Promotion is a limited-time promotion which will run from June 15 to July 15, 2023, inclusive.

·       A Cardholder’s reward earned through participation in this Promotion will be forfeited in the event that the Cardholder ceases to be a Cardholder at any time during the Promotion.

·       Prizes are not transferable and are subject to change.

·       Prizes must be accepted as awarded.

·       The Bank will not be responsible for changes to the prizes which result from circumstances outside of the Bank’s control.

·       Scotiabank will issue no representation or warranty in respect of the prize.

In all matters relating to this Promotion, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding in all respects, subject to the approval from the relevant gaming authorities.

Subject to the approval from the relevant gaming authorities:

·       Scotiabank has the right to exclude any individual from this offer in its absolute discretion without any obligation to provide notice or reason.

·       Scotiabank reserves the right in its absolute discretion to vary the terms and conditions of this Promotion or change or withdraw this Promotion at any time without giving any reason. In the event of a dispute arising from this Promotion, the Bank’s decision is final.

These Terms and Conditions apply only to this Promotion and do not apply to any of the Bank’s other promotions or programs or any other promotion or program in conjunction with the Bank and any other entity or brand.
