Use strong unique passwords or passphrases
Avoid using the same password for multiple accounts. Consider using a passphrase – a longer combination of words that is easier to remember but harder for others to guess.
Enable additional security where available
Features like two-step verification add an extra layer of protection to your accounts.
Be cautious with emails and messages
Fraudsters may try to impersonate trusted organizations. If something seems suspicious, avoid clicking links or sharing personal information.
Keep your devices updated
Install updates for your phone, tablet and computer regularly. These updates often include important security improvements.
Avoid using public Wi-Fi for banking
Public networks may not be secure. When possible, use your own trusted internet connection
Cyber criminals are always looking for new ways to catch you.

Social media scams occur when fraudsters use fake profiles on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp to impersonate individuals, businesses, or even financial institutions.
Scammers may:
- Pretend to represent your bank and ask for sensitive information.
- Advertise deals, investments, or prizes that seem too good to be true.
- Pose as a friend or family member requesting urgent financial help.
- Send links that lead to fake websites designed to steal your login details.
Always verify
Here's how you can protect yourself:
- Be cautious with messages or offers that seem unusual, urgent or too good to be true.
- Avoid clicking on links from unknown accounts or suspicious messages.
- Never share your online banking password, one-time codes, or personal banking information via social media channels.
- Verify accounts claiming to represent businesses or organizations before engaging. Contact your friend/loved one or the business/organization via their official number or verified email address.
