The following definitions apply to these Terms and Conditions:
“Eligible” refers to any individual qualified to participate in this contest/campaign.
“Individual” means a person who has entered the contest/campaign during the Promotion Period.
“Eligible Credit Card transactions” means any retail, internet purchase, phone or mail order purchase or Point of Sale transactions not including returns/credits, any fees and/or bank charges.
“Promotional Period” means from October 17th, 2022 to January 13th, 2023 inclusive.
“Promotion” refers to this Scotiabank Christmas Campaign and not any of The Bank’s other promotions or programs.
“Account” refers to Scotia Plan Loans, Auto Loans, Mortgages, Credit Cards.
“The Bank” and “Scotiabank” means Scotiabank Barbados Limited.
“Prize” refers to the prize(s) offered at the end of the promotional period by the bank.
ELIGIBLITY
1. This Promotion is open to legal residents of Barbados 18 years of age or older and have an Deposit Account or have opened one within the Promotional Period, with the exception of Scotiabank employees and/or those living in the same household of Scotiabank employees, their immediate families including (spouses, parents, children,siblings, and their respective spouses), as well as any of Scotiabank’s partner companies, subsidiaries and/or its advertising agency Valdez and Torry International and their immediate families including (spouses, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses).
2. To qualify for any Prize, the Individual must be a Scotiabank customer whose accounts are in good standing, which includes not being blocked, frozen, written off, or delinquent throughout the Promotional Period or delinquent for two (2) or more cycles within the past twelve (12) months.
3. In the event that an Individual earns a prize, but ceases to be a customer through this Promotional Period, or ceases to be a customer as in two (2) above or becomes an “immediate family member as in one (1) above, then the person shall be considered ineligible to receive the Prize.
HOW TO ENTER
1. Customers will automatically receive one (1) entry where during the specified timeframe they have an existing deposit account or have opened one and:
a. Applied and received the proceeds of a new Scotia Plan Loan for a minimum of $6,500 BBD, or
b. Applied and received the proceeds of an auto loan for the purchase of a motor vehicle, or
c. Refinanced an existing Scotia Plan Loan, with new funds of a minimum of $6,500 BBD, or
d. Applied for and activated a new Scotiabank Credit Card with a minimum limit of $6,500 BBD and spent $4,000 on eligible credit card transactions by January 31st, 2023.
OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS
1. The Promotion runs from October 17th , 2022, to January 13th , 2023 inclusive of start and end dates and is available to all new and existing Scotiabank retail customers.
2. Scotia Plan Loans’, Refinanced Scotia Plan Loans, Auto Loans & Credit Cards must be booked during the promotional period of October 17th , 2022, to January 13th, 2023.
3. Winners will be selected as follows on February 20th, 2023, via a random selection process conducted by the Bank:
3.1. Scotia Plan Loan, Refinanced Scotia Plan Loan, Auto Loan entries (based on criteria outlined in How to Enter 1a.,1b, or 1c. will have a chance to win the following prize:
✓ One individual will win a trip to New York for 2
a. Flight & Hotel (4 nights, 5 days)
b. Spending Included
c. Valued at $6,500 USD
3.2. Credit Card Entries (based on criteria outlined in How to Enter 1d., will have a chance to win:
a. (1) of seven (7) prizes of $3,000 BBD to be credited to the Credit Card used to do the eligible credit card transactions.
4. Each winner shall be notified by telephone within five (5) business days from the date of the draw and shall as a condition of the award of a prize, provide proof of their age and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Prize Acceptance and Release within five (5) business days of notification to be confirmed as a winner. If the winner declines to fulfill these conditions to collect the prize, their eligibility will be voided, and another winner will be drawn from the pool of eligible entries.
5. The Bank will contact winners using the personal or employer’s telephone and email addresses as provided by the customer and retained on The Bank’s records. If the winners cannot be contacted after five (5) attempts by telephone within five (5) business days from the date of the draw The Bank has the right to draw an alternate name.
6. The winners’ name may be published in the media. A Winner must agree to the use of his or her name and photographs without compensation in any forthcoming publicity by Scotiabank, specific to this promotion as your status as a winner.
7. Prizes are not transferable.
8. The Bank reserves the right, in its sole discretion to void any and all entries.
9. In all matters relating to this Promotion, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding in all respects, subject to the approval from the relevant gaming authorities.
10. Subject to the approval from any applicable gaming authorities:
• Scotiabank has the right to exclude any individual from this offer in its absolute discretion without any obligation to provide notice or reason.
• Scotiabank reserves the right in its absolute discretion to vary the terms and conditions of this Promotion or change or withdraw this Promotion at any time without giving any reason. In the event of a dispute arising from this Promotion, the Bank’s decision is final.
These terms and conditions apply only to this Promotion, and do not apply to any of the Bank’s other promotions or programs or any other promotion or program in conjunction with the Bank and any other entity or brand. •
